#NYFW: Milly AW17

Not necessarily deconstructed, but definitely reworked. Milly’s AW17 show says ditch the traditional office wear and opt for a modernised way of dressing.

Pair a leather midi skirt with a cropped shirt that is only buttoned at the bottom and slanted to reveal toe shoulder. You won’t look like you had 5 minutes to get ready, but rather, a trendsetter that will have your colleagues copying in no time.

Who says workwear isn’t outerwear? Not Milly. As the collection features satin skirts and maxi length black dresses, paired with relaxed knitwear, it can be styled for any occasion.

Milly’s AW17 collection offers a variety of wears and presents a uniquely beautiful exaggeration on smart/casual.

#NYFW: La Perla AW17

Lingerie brand La Perla has taken full advantage of the trend of underwear as outerwear as they present their ready to wear collection on the runway.

As expected, the clothing was sexy yet elegant. Tops and dresses were fringed with lace and every piece of fabric hugged the models’ figures. Corsets with translucent detail were paired with matching mini skirts and shorts to resemble a one piece.  Evening gowns were amped up in sensuality by a delicate exposé of the bra underneath it.

Of course, there were some big names representing the brand on the runway including: Naomi Campbell, Joan Smalls and Kendall Jenner. Whose appearances added wow factor to an already sensational presentation.

La Perla’s AW17 runway show was not to be missed. The collection was an inviting whisper to own your femininity.

#NYFW: Adam Selman AW17

Is love in the air? Because Adam Selman’s AW17 collection seduced its spectators. If you needed anything to put you in the Valentine’s Day mood, this is it.

The colour palette was romantic with hues of blush pink and bold red. Fabrics were light and silhouettes were hourglass with Rhinestone belts clinched around the waist.

Roses were hugely present: embroidered onto denim, printed onto t-shirts and on top of a veil. That wasn’t quite enough though. A bouquet of innumerable roses appeared like a top on the model in the finale.

The statement from Adam Selman’s AW17 show clearly stated that love is all we need.

#NYFW: Nicholas K AW17

Knitwear never has to be boring. That’s the message received at Nicholas K AW17. Even a black turtle neck jumper was evolved by the addition of thumb holes and was paired with a burnt orange jumpsuit.

The metallic details that contributed to every look was what really stole the show. One model wore an oversized shearling coat with three quarter length trousers and a matching hat, all dripping in gold. Ankle and thigh high boots shone with every outfit as well as a large golden hoop that featured a tusk-like metal in the middle.

No look from the collection was complete without the appearance of tied together sleeves, whether it be on a dress, jacket or trousers. The added detail creates a comfortable casualness, essential for looking stylish during winter.

Nicholas K’s AW17 collection was effortlessly stylish and wearable with a touch of attitude.

#NYFW: Cinq à Sept AW17

Who can say that they’ve enjoyed a fine meal and a glass of wine whilst spectating a fashion show? Well, if you’ve watched a Facebook Live stream of one then maybe, but whilst attending the runway show? I think not. Cinq à Sept’s AW17 collection commenced in a restaurant environment with huge windows revealing the snowy landscape of New York – the setting definitely reflected the clothing’s general theme of comfort and warmth.

Ruffles were a dominant feature on blouses and dresses which were often accompanying each other to create layering. Denim made key appearances in the form of a tight mini dress and a three-piece suit which was covered in delicately embroidered florals. There was also a few twists on the current fishnet tights trend: instead of seeing them with jeans and a crop top, they gave softly feminine dresses an edge. A thick pair of grey socks were also placed on top of them with black heels to complete the look.

Cinq à Sept created a collection that can be worn by the modern woman in and out of the workplace.

Trending: Jumper + Mini Skirt

It’s been a busy couple of days hence the lack of posts.

I just wanted to share a quick outfit post. I’ve been so inspired by the AW16 jumper and mini skirt trend that I decided to try it out for myself. Although I’m a season ahead 😉

London Fashion Week: Day 4 FT Joseph and Ashish

I was a little disappointed with some of the collections from the most famous houses on day four. Therefore I have chosen two of my favourite collections from Joseph and Ashish.

Joseph

I always love Joseph collections; casual knitwear with long sleeves and a pop of colour. I especially appreciate the knitwear dress with elongated sleeves and a red jacket featuring a cute broach.

A parade of colour that even the brightest of rainbows couldn’t compete with at Ashish this season. A reoccurring theme of block colour teamed with a matching Afro and sequins galore. I am so in love with the rose gold dress.
