Milan Fashion Week Day 5: Dolce & Gabbana

As one of the most anticipated shows of Milan Fashion Week, Dolce & Gabbana knows how to stun their guests and fans. A youthful approach was taken to the SS17 collection but also joyously celebrated their roots with ‘Tropico Italiano’, taking inspiration from the Italian Islands.

Heavy embellishments and black lace dresses are a reoccurrence at Dolce & Gabbana shows. However, logo-printed tees and hoodies are not. The collection feels bright, young and optisimistic, like the millennial audience they are trying to attract. Yet it is done so beautifully with traditional elements of the brand staying and blending with the more youthful elements, something most major houses struggle with. It is effortless. Team your t-shirt with a metallic mini skirt, a pair of translucent knee-high socks and complete with a pair of black stilettos. The ultimate SS17 D&G woman embraces moderninity without straying from her beloved roots.
