Milan Fashion Week Day 5 FT Dolce & Gabbana and Au Jour Le Jour

On the penultimate day of Milan Fashion Week, Dolce & Gabbana dazzles with an army of sequins whilst Au Jour Le Jour points towards the right direction.

Logos, shapes and nature embroidered onto see-through t-shirt and blazer dresses. To achieve the Au Jour Le Jour aesthetic, wear a translucent baggy dress with translucent socks and a pair of heels.

Dolce & Gabbana provide yet another magnificent show this season. As always, the collection was regal with golden embroidery, jewels and a ‘dreaming of my prince’ slogan on a dress. Of course the finale was the icing on the cake as a troop of models marched down the runway shining like stars.

Milan Fashion Week: Day 4 FT Philipp Plein, Jil Sander, Ermanno Scervino and Ports 1961

Another strong day at Milan Fashion Week. The collections of day four were bold and beautiful. Here’s the favourites summarised.
Ports 1961

A minimalist colour scheme finishes a simple but clean collection at Ports 1961. A silhouette that makes the waist the main feature of the looks and having one shoulder bare. I admire this style of design. Particularly the white mesh top teamed with a bralet and hipster trousers.
Ermanno Scervino

Fur and lace dominated the runway at Ermanno Scervino this season. A romantic theme was evident with the dresses and the coats looked as though they could keep you warm in arctic conditions.

Just below the knee and elongated sleeves featured on the Jil Sander runway. Metalic colours made a huge statement along with simple footwear. The silver dress teamed with a black coat is by far my favourite look.

Sports luxe taken to a whole other level. To achieve the Philipp Plein look, team a dress with metalic details with a pair of trainers. The skin tight jumpsuit with diamontes and high neck that resembles a necklace needs a place in my wardrobe.

Milan Fashion Week: Day 3 FT Versace, Emporio Armani and Diesel Black Gold

The best day so far at Milan Fashion Week. The collections were strong and insanely beautiful as always. Here are my favourites and the reasons why…
Diesel Black Gold

Toning down the masculine tailoring with sequins, Diesel Black Gold shined this season. The jumper and skirt combination has been seen a lot and it hasn’t yet failed to impress me. Add a small buckle belt to nail this look.
Emporio Armani

Geometric broaches and powder pink for the ‘tech heroine’ as stated by Mr Armani himself. Bold tailoring and colours that resemble to buttons on a PlayStation, it works. A pink mini skirt and a blazer will make you chic day and night.
Versace

Donatella Versace brings the top models right now to the catwalk at Versace. I’ve always admired the statements of colour the house makes and this season is no exception. Powder blue is teamed with black, pink and grey. The strongest show of the day and even the week so far.

A Day At The Saatchi Gallery: London Fashion Weekend

Yesterday I visited the Saatchi Gallery as it hosted a blogger’s dream; London Fashion Weekend. If you’ve ever wanted to shop at highly discounted prices on pieces from Moschino  and Dolce and Gabbana, experience the front row at a fashion show and enjoy lunch at one of London’s finest destinations, than this day is for you.

I arrived at the Saatchi Gallery at 10:30 am and collected my designer tote. The bag was filled with exclusive goodies such as Garnier moisturising cream, Pukka tea leaves, Maybelline baby lips and much more.

Whilst I was waiting for the Trend Show catwalk, I drifted between rooms that were full of designer clothes and marvelled at the displays. The all white decor was modern and made the clothing stand out.

Whilst wondering around the jewellery room, I came across a unique stall that immediately caught my eye. It was surrounded by art work that could’ve had a show of it’s own.

‘You’re so vain you probably think this artwork’s about you.’

Golden bullet cases that have been crystallised from the inside

Love Bullets

Love Bullets is a brand that uses golden bullet cases and crystallises the inside of them. Every coloured crystal has different healing properties, I bought a black crystal necklace that protects you from negativity such as self doubt and helps you to feel secure. They are often used to heal the root chakra which is found in your lower spine. I picked this crystal because I was instantly attracted to it but once the lovely salesman described its healing properties I was sold, I suffer from many of the issues the crystal helps with. It was as though it was meant to be. The irony of using a destructive weapon to heal spiritual wounds appeals to me on a very deep level.

Trend Show – Very Exlcusive

It was then show time. Because I got to the show space eagerly, I was lucky enough to secure a second row seat, which meant I had a better chance of securing quality images.

The music created a lively atmosphere as Very Exclusive showcased their SS16 Trend Show which featured pieces from renowned designers from Alexander McQueen  to Versus Versace.

After a lunch break featuring a caramel latte and a bacon and chicken sandwich from Costa, I headed back to the Saatchi Gallery to view Mary Katrantzou SS16. I sat front row for this show as I had been anticipating it since I had bought my tickets. Front row experience was great for my photos.

The finale of the Mary Katrantzou show signified the end of my day. I learnt a lot about myself at the London Fashion Weekend experience and I will be returning the to stunning venue, the Saatchi Gallery, for exhibitions in the future.

What do you think about my first attempt at runway photography?

Until next time,

Milan Fashion Week: Day 2 FT Les Copains

Apologies for the later post today, I’ve been at London Fashion Weekend all day (post on its way). I am exhausted from walking around my home city all day but because I had such a wonderful time. I had a quick flick through the images of Milan Fashion Week day two and the collection from Les Copains is the only one that stuck out to me. So here are the details…

A romantic but structured collection featuring lace and blazers. I love the femininity of the skirts and the comfort of the knitwear. I admire collections with strong themes and this is definitely a great example of that.

Milan Fashion Week: Day 1 FT Alberta Ferretti, Fausto Puglisi and Francesco Scognamiglio

Milan Fashion Week is one of my favourite weeks of the biannual fashion month (along side Paris). The Italian houses have a way of making everything so effortlessly elegant. This post features the highlights from day one.

Alberta Ferretti

Continuing the Summer trend of lingerie, Alberta Ferretti combined the use of lace and silk for a comfortable but sexy collection. The dresses ooze an effortless glamour. I particularly admire the white silk dress with fur around the shoulders.
Fausto Puglisi

I really like the aesthetic of Fausto Puglisi; it’s unique but instantly recognisable. The mini skirt and jumper combination is cute but the use of leather and studs creates a cooler look.

London Fashion Week: Final Day FT Amanda Wakeley and Xiao Li

London Fashion Week (or you could say London Fashion Working Week because it’s only 5 days long), has come to an end. Two collections shone brightly to me and here’s why…

Amanda Wakeley

Make your waist the statement with a belt teamed with your favourite Amanda Wakeley dress or coat. Finish the look with a fur scarf for ulitimate chic. The evening looks were definitely the treasures within this collection. A very feminine silhouette that shows off your best features in a glamorous way.

Xiao Li

I love the blue and lilac colours that have been used in contrast with white.  Another designer that is a hidden treasure. The sports influence continues with a modern art twist.

Milan is the next stop and is one of my favourite weeks. I’m very excited, are you?
